CAMPAIGN STRATEGYA VISUAL TRIBUTE TO LAND, LEGACY, AND LIBERATION.
Created as a Juneteenth initiative, this piece honors the layered history of Anacostia through visual storytelling. The house in the background references the historic home of Frederick Douglass, while the central figure represents an Indigenous woman of the Nacotchtank—the original people of the land. Together, the composition bridges Black liberation and Indigenous presence, using illustration to acknowledge ancestry, resistance, and the stories rooted in place.
